Flintly · Habit & to-do tracker for Android

Flintly — build streaks
that actually stick.

Flintly is a free habit and to-do tracker for Android. You create the routines you want to keep — exercise, water, reading, medication — and Flintly reminds you, times them, records each day you follow through, and turns that history into streaks, a consistency heatmap and weekly insights. Your data is stored on your phone; an optional backup goes to your own Google Drive.

About the app

What is Flintly?

Flintly is a mobile application for Android that helps people build and keep daily habits. You add the routines you want to repeat and the one-off tasks you need to remember; Flintly shows you what is due today, reminds you at the time you choose, lets you tick each one off (or run a countdown timer for the ones measured in minutes), and keeps a permanent record of the days you followed through. That record becomes your streak, your consistency heatmap and your weekly recap — the feedback loop that makes a habit stick.

What it's for

Turning intentions into a routine you actually repeat — daily, on set weekdays, or a number of times per week or month.

Where it runs

A native Android app, free to download from Google Play. It works fully offline — no account is required to use it.

Where your data lives

In a database on your own phone. Signing in with Google is optional and used only to back that database up to your own Google Drive.

  • Create routines — name, icon, colour, schedule, reminder time and an optional daily target (for example water, 8×).
  • Complete them each day — one tap, a counter, or a built-in timer that marks the routine done when it reaches zero.
  • Track to-dos alongside habits — priorities, due times and subtasks, in the same daily view.
  • See your progress — current and best streak, an 18-week heatmap, time-of-day patterns and a weekly recap.
  • Keep your history safe — export it as a file, or back it up to your own Google Drive.
Everything in one place

A habit tracker that respects your day

Routines, to-dos, timers and stats live in the same warm interface — so you never juggle three apps to keep one promise to yourself.

Streaks worth keeping

Every finished day feeds a streak, a best-ever record and a consistency grid you can read in a second.

Built-in timers

Give a routine a duration and Flintly counts it down, tracks the minutes and completes the habit at zero.

Several times a day

Water 8×, vitamins 2× — set a daily target and each tap fills a progress bar instead of one blunt checkbox.

To-dos that get out of the way

Priorities, subtasks, due times and swipe-to-archive. One list for what's today, one glance for what's overdue.

Insights, not vanity charts

Trends, best days, time-of-day patterns and a weekly recap that names the habit slipping — generated on your device.

Dark, light, color-blind

Three full themes with a CVD-safe palette. Status never relies on color alone — every state carries an icon too.

Consistency

18 weeks of showing up, on one screen

Your heatmap is the honest version of your month. Filter it by routine, tap a day to see what happened, and let the streak carry you through the days motivation doesn't.

  • Current & best streak side by side, so a slip never erases the record.
  • Per-routine filters — see which habit is carrying the month.
  • Single-hue intensity ramp that stays readable for color-blind users.

Start the timer, finish the habit

Reading, meditation, deep work — the routines that need minutes get a timer instead of a checkbox. When it hits zero, the habit completes itself and the minutes land in your time analytics.

  • Auto-complete at 0:00 — no second step to forget.
  • Time analytics — hours per routine, minutes per day, longest session.
  • 94% vs 62% — timed routines get finished far more often than untimed ones.

Privacy by default

Your habits are nobody else's business

Flintly is offline-first: routines, to-dos and streaks live on your device. Nothing is sold, no ad SDKs ride along, and every sync is something you switch on deliberately.

On-device by default

Habit data is stored locally. Cloud sync is opt-in, per data type.

No ad trackers, no data sales

No advertising SDKs, no profile brokering, ever.

Export and delete anytime

Take your history as JSON or CSV, or wipe the account in one tap.

Google sign-in & Drive backup

How Flintly uses your Google account

Signing in with Google is optional and off by default — Flintly works completely without it. You would only use it for one thing: keeping a backup copy of your habit history in your own Google Drive, so you can restore it on a new phone.

What we request

Your basic Google profile (name, email address, profile picture and account ID) and the drive.appdata scope — nothing else.

What that scope can touch

drive.appdata reaches only a hidden, app-specific folder in your Drive. Flintly cannot see, list or open any of your other Drive files.

Where the data goes

Your phone uploads one JSON backup file straight to your Drive over HTTPS. We operate no server, so it never passes through us and we never see it.

Limited Use disclosure

Flintly's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising, do not sell or transfer it, and do not allow humans to read it.

You can disconnect at any time: sign out in Settings → Sync & Data, or revoke Flintly's access from your Google account permissions page — then delete the app's hidden app data from Drive.

FAQ

Questions people actually ask

Is Flintly free?

Yes. Unlimited routines, to-dos, streaks and timers are free forever. Pro adds custom colors, full insight history, widgets and sync data to your Google Drive — it never locks data you already tracked.

Does it work offline?

Completely. Flintly stores your routines on your device and needs no connection to tick a habit, run a timer or show your streak. Data sync into your Google Drive is optional and stay off until you turn them on.

Can I track a habit several times a day?

Yes — set a daily target such as “water, 8×”. Each tap advances a progress bar and a count ring, and the routine only counts as done when you hit the target. Partial progress still moves your day's completion ring.

Is Flintly usable if I'm color-blind?

There's a dedicated color-blind-safe theme built on a blue/orange pair, and status is never carried by color alone: done, remaining and skipped each have their own icon and label.

Why does Flintly ask me to sign in with Google?

Only if you want to back your habit history up to your own Google Drive. Flintly asks for your basic Google profile (name, email, picture, account ID) and the drive.appdata scope — a hidden, app-specific folder that holds one backup file. It cannot see or open any other file in your Drive, and the app works completely without signing in. Details are in the Google data section and the privacy policy.

What happens to my data?

It stays yours. No data sales, no advertising trackers, export whenever you like and delete your account in one tap. The details — what's stored, for how long, and who processes it — are in the privacy policy.
